London: 30 September 2021 – Carbon Underwriting Limited (Carbon), the specialist, independent managing general underwriter (MGU) and Lloyd’s syndicate, is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily Sinclair as Office and Communications Manager with immediate effect.
In her new role, Emily will have a broad range of responsibilities including ensuring the smooth running of the Carbon London office; providing administrative and operational support to the CEO, CUO and CTO; working with agency support to ensure effective maintenance of the company’s website and social media channels; managing client events; and assisting the senior leadership team with the ongoing development of Carbon’s Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) policy.
With a strong track record in communications and marketing, Emily has joined Carbon from brand purpose agency, Given, where she was Business Development Manager. Prior to this, she was New Business and Marketing Manager with media agency, UM, and before that, she was a Marketing Executive at B2B marketing agency, gyro. Emily began her career with M&C Saatchi.
Nick Tye, Carbon CEO, said:
“Carbon is very much a people business and Emily’s appointment is a very good example of the breadth of talent we are attracting as we continue to evolve rapidly as a leading technology-driven MGU and Lloyd’s Syndicate.
Emily brings a wealth of office management experience to the role as well as a very strong background in communications and marketing – both of which will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business and capitalise on the opportunities the current market presents. I am also particularly pleased that a big part of Emily’s focus will be developing and driving our ESG policy – values that we place at the heart of our business and are keen to build out in line with our growth ambitions.
I am delighted to welcome Emily to the Carbon team and I know that we will benefit considerably from her wide-ranging experience and expertise.”
Emily Sinclair, Office and Communications Manager, commented:
“I am excited to be joining a young and innovative company that really wants to disrupt the industry in a positive way and which is committed to putting ESG front and centre of its business. I have already been impressed by the progressive, welcoming and forward-thinking attitude of the team, and the culture of collaboration and entrepreneurship that Carbon is fostering.
I am also particularly looking forward to using my media and marketing background to help position Carbon as a future-proof company that is as impactful as any big brand business.”
